Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values to ensure our young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Students are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in Britain are subject to its law.

The British values we embrace are not unique to Britain. We acknowledge that they differ in no way from values of the many countries and the cultural backgrounds represented by families.

The Key Values are:

  •  democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Cultural Capital

Supporting our students' knowledge of their Cultural Capital is of the utmost importance to us.  Please see our one page document below of how we weave Cultural Capital throughout our school.
