At Chelveston Road School we believe that all children should have opportunities to develop beyond the classroom. There are numerous opportunities to take part in our exciting and engaging extra-curricular programme, giving students the chance to learn new skills and enhance existing ones.

There will be a broad range of extra-curricular activities available using the brilliant new facilities that we have. These will range from sports, to gardening, to cooking and so much more as the school grows and greater numbers of staff join our excellent team, enhancing the skills and expertise that we have.

As well as structured activities being available for students at lunchtimes, after school Extra-Curricular clubs will in the future be available on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; Wednesdays are given over to staff professional development.

After school extra-curricular clubs will start later in the school's life, allowing time for transport and other logistics to be organised.

Lunchtime clubs have now started.

To see what clubs are on each day, students can check the Lunchtime Clubs noticeboard outside the sports hall.

Learning Platforms

Reading, Reading, Reading

We're encouraging all our students to read both in school and at home.  This can be a book for pleasure, magazines, comics, recipes when students are helping to cook at home.  To support reading, look out for our termly reading competitions.

As part of our whole school reading and vocabulary focus, your young person's teacher will regularly issue a comprehension and vocabulary task linked to their classroom learning.
